Rose & Geranium Lip Salve

Rose & Geranium
A softening, moisturising balm infused with calming rose oil and with nourishing olive oil.

Winter is about to start. It's getting colder in the morning and I sure need to change my beauty routine a little. Today I'm just going to do a short review on lip balm.

I usually have a pot of vaseline in my bag for an instant moiturizer, be it the lips or just for the hands. Whoever invented these small pot, you are the best. It makes life so much more easier to carry these babies around.

Well, I kinda stop using vaseline now coz apparently it will dry out the lips more if constantly relying on it. Not all the vaseline tho', I still use the vaseline rose. This one is ok as it contains almond oil (balance out ;)) and it's tinted so it gives my lips a nice rosy tint.

Ok, let's move on to the Boots Original Beauty Formula. This is one of the best balm that I've use so far. It comes in such a cute and elegant packaging. It contains petroleum as well however there is a lot of other delicious combo of oil (grape seed, rose, almond, fruit...all the fab oil for beauty) that makes the product really good. I've been using it for two weeks and I can notice some changes. I use it on my lips and and my nails. Yes, my nails. I tend to leave a pot of balm on my desk so that I get to use is when needed. My nails has been quite dry and I have to leave it polish free for a while. I rub a little of the balm at the back of my hands too. After two weeks, I can say I am in love with this tiny pot. My lips felt moisture through out the day and there's a slight rose aroma which is not overpowering. My nails has the nice glow with no dry patch of skin on the edge and my hands noticeably smoother and no tightness. It's a definite that I will get my next pot when this is finish.

You can find these at Boots for £3.89

Clarins Skin Spa

Aromatic Body Balancer

It has been for a while since I have my massage. I can sense the tension building up and knots on my shoulders. As I was browsing and bargain hunting in Derbenhams, I spotted the offer at Clarins counter. Although I have long since heard about how good Clarins is, never really get a chance to try it out as I have too many beauty products to begin with but a massage sounds like a good idea to kick off. It's £30.00 for the Aromatherapy treatment. Normal price will be £42.00 so I thought why not. I booked the earliest time on Saturday so that I can have the rest of the afternoon off to meet up a friend for lunch.

On Saturday, I am all gear up for my one hour of indulgence. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the Clarins girl and was ask to wait a the small lounge for the beautician. The beautician Lavinnia arrived about 10 mins later. I was then being shown to the beauty room. The room smells nice. Well, it should be, after all the hours and hours spend by beauty junkie being rub with the heavenly scented oil. I then change and wrap in big towels while waiting for the beautician.

After 5 mins, Lavinnia came and I lie down on my front so that she can start the massage on my back. A min later, I can feel warm aromatic oil being pour on my back. It feels so good. Once she started, it's even better. After 1 hour, I can feel the stress and tension on my body melting away drowning in the gorgeous smell of the oil. When she finish with the massage, she then put on some perfume water on the upper body. This is great coz I can feel the refreshing tingling. This is not just for the scent but also to lighten the oil that has been smother on. All in all, I would say, it's absolutely fantastic. The promotion is still on going till end of the month. For those who are in London, try this out.

Nivea Visage DNAge Cell Renewal Eye Cream

Hi everyone! I'm back. This will be my first product review for the 2009. Today I'm going to share with you on the Nivea eye cream.

The following is what it claims

Nivea DNAge Cell Renewal Eye Cream reduces the DNA damage in your skin whilst promoting healthy skin cell production.

What does that mean for your skin?

  • Reduced puffiness around the eyes
  • Improved skin vitality
  • Visibly reduced wrinkles and fine lines

The secret of DNAge Cell Renewal lies in the powerful combination of Folic Acid - shown to support healthy skin cell development - andCreatine - known to act as a powerful energy source for cells. In addition to this high performing action, the Eye Cream provides UVA/UVB protection and reduces puffiness around the eyes. The formula is especially suitable for the delicate eye area

I don't normally use eye cream as I am afraid it maybe too greasy. I love the Body Shop Elderflower Cooling Eye Gel during the summer but I find it not suitable for the harsh winter. I will talk more about the cooling gel some other time. As I was browsing at the beauty section in Boots, I notice the Nivea DNAge range. I've tried the Nivea Aqua Sensation two years ago and I love the cooling effect and my skin is not just moisturize, felt softer too so I have confident in Nivea products.

Life has been quite hectic during christmas and the late nights at the hospital doesn't help so my eye has been puffy and felt tired. I dab a little of the eye cream on my eyes contour area before I sleep. The texture of the cream is so soft and not greasy at all, it felt as it's going to get absorb by my hands. I love the gentle ligth creamy touch on my eyes. After my 8 hours slumber, I felt good and I must say I'm impress. Although it is still a little puffy but I don't have the normal tired feeling around my eyes. Will I buy it again? It's a definite yes.
